Title I proposes an Early Literacy Grant
After looking at the data and exploring scientifically researched Early Literacy Programs, Title I is proposing an Early Literacy Grant to work with 4 year olds and their parents on phonemic awareness, language and vocabulary skills and letter/sound knowledge.This grant would also enhance early math skills. Title I teachers, Family Literacy Coordinator, and administrators will meet to discuss this proposal next week.

CBM and DIBELS Testing
All Title I students are in the process of taking their CBM and DIBELS testing.CBM measures a child's reading fluency. DIBELS measures phonics skills in the areas of letter naming fluency, initial sound fluency, phoneme segmentation and nonsense word fluency. This data will be used to help plan instruction for the coming semester.
